Speaking Announcement

Hello, everyone! Our members are Shinichiro, Taka and Kumi. We will talk about food and restaurants. We asked many questions to one hundred thirty KGU students, and we surveyed about it.

We asked age, sex blood type and department for personal questions. The results are as follows.

We asked them Yes/No questions, and we knew about they satisfied with present the school’s eating places.

First, we asked students whether you are satisfied with present students dining hall. 88(eighty eight) students answered “No”. Almost of all students are not satisfied about with present students dining hall. There are a lot of menus there, but they are not satisfied about it.

Next question is needs more eating place. This question is Almost of all students think need more eating places. I think so, because everywhere become full in lunch time. And it is convenient for us to there are many eating places.

We took next question for example. Do you need a café? Almost of all students said “Yes”. I suppose many students use the café, if there is a café. I want to café for example, star backs, doutor coffee and the like.

Next question is needs seats in a smoking section. 68 students answered “Yes”. But I don’t think so. Because of there are smoking lounges in the university now. And it is trouble for nonsmokers to smoke at the table. So I think it doesn’t needs seats in a smoking section.

We wanted to know students need the convenience stores besides Lawson. Have you ever seen a long line of Lawson in lunch time? It became a long line. About half of the students think need it. I think that it is convenient if there is a convenience store besides Lawson.

We asked about do you want to open on Sunday. Half of the students answered “Yes”. I want to open on holiday too. Sometimes I use the university on holyday. So I think it is convenient for me to open the eating places.

So Cold!!

I got up early in the morning today. I surprised, because it was snowing and there was snow everywhere. I saw the sight for the first time in a long time. It was beautiful sight.

However, I went outside and it was so cold!! I didn’t want to go outside. I go to school by train and bus everyday. I thought that the train and the bus might delay for the snow, so I left home a little earlier. But these didn’t late.

So I thought that it is annoying when it was snowing too much today. However I felt the snow is very beautiful afresh.

Essay 2-01a: My Favorite Places

My favorite places are my home, school, local and nature. I can compose and enjoy in these places. These places are important for me. So I will write about my favorite places.

First of all, I can compose in my home the best. My room gets a lot of sunshine, and I often spend listening to music and watching movie in my cozy room. I like the kitchen too. My hobbies are cooking and making sweets, so my favorite place is kitchen. My family is usually collect at living room. We eat a meal and watch the TV at there. However I can’t eat a meal with my family, because I’m busy recently. Nevertheless we collect at living room, so it is important for my family to there. There is my grandfather’s home next to my home. There is a kotatsu built into the floor. It is snug and comfortable. Also, my family and my relatives gather in their home always gathered in the New Years holidays and summer holidays at his home. So it is important for my family and my relatives to there too.

Next, I like Kumamoto Gakuen University. I take about one hour and half from my home to school by train, so it’s very far. However there are many good places for me. The library is quiet, so I can compose and concentrate. I often use the library when I have nothing to do. I like the clubroom. I join the youth hostel club. I love my friends, my seniors and my juniors, and there are a lot of pictures and many memories with them. I like the student union too. This place is very convenient. Also, there are always friends. I eat lunch every day there. There are these places in the university, so I can enjoy campus life.

My hometown is Tamana. There are a lot of natures and good places for me. There are a lot of fields around my house, and it’s very rural. However I can calm the rural area than the city. And there are foot hot springs and the beach. I often go to there with friends, and we talk about various things and we shot off fireworks these places. My friends and I enjoy these places, and precious places.

I have some my favorite places. These places are calm, enjoy and happy for me. My home is cozy and comfortable place for me. I enjoy the university, so good place for me. I can calm in my hometown, and happy places. These places calm and enjoy me in a different meaning. Therefore any places are necessary for me.

Road Relay

January 9

It was Saturday, but I got up early and I went to the school, because I had a meeting of my club from morning. I became accountant in my club, and we talked various things.

After that, the long distance relay road race from afternoon in the school. Our club members participated it for the first time, so I went to boost. There were the runner who ran seriously, or the runner who ran while doing a performance in this road relay, so it was funny. Our club was not able to win the championship, but I enjoyed just boosted them.

January 10

I went to the crea to shopping with my sister yesterday. I went there for first time in a long time. These shops were having a sale, so it became low priced. We made the rounds a lot of shops. I bought some clothes. I didn’t buy the clothes recently, so I was glad.

I drove return road and I went for a drive and came back home.

I have longed for America since I was a child. I have interested in America, foreign countries and English when I often watched American video dramas. I found this book “American Life”, and I do want to read this book. It was written in this book on America, country, life style, problems, sports, movies, music, TV and so on. This book appeared about a lot of I have interesting things.

I was interested in American life at first. I knew about there are marry people are 60 %, have a dog or a cat people are 56 %. And I can understand situation of their shopping, food, houses work.

Baseball, American football, basketball and hockey are very popular with American. And it was written about these history, teams and player. Also, a lot of famous people as Jack Nicholson like basketball.

I was interested in movies the best. I surprised about American movie makers make about 570 movies each year. I liked American movies, so I thought that want to more watch these movies. And “Titanic”, “Star Wars”, “E.T.” and “Jurassic Park” made the most money in America. Also, Jim Carey, Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Will Smith and Mel Gibson get $20,000,000 or more money for one movie.

I read this book, and I surprised various things. However I enjoyed while I read American Life. I became I want to more go to America.

Coming of Age Ceremony

It was the Coming of Age ceremony yesterday. I saw some my friends for the first time since we graduated in junior high school. I was grad I saw them, and I enjoyed yesterday!!

I got up early yesterday in the morning, and I went to beauty salon. I had my hair set and I was clothed long sleeved kimono for the Coming of Age ceremony. I was grad I can clothe long sleeved kimono. After that, I went to see my grandfather, my grandmother and my relatives.

I rendezvoused with my friends at the city hall at noon. We came in the city hall, and we saw a lot of good old friends and junior high school teachers. However there were changed friends since I last met, so I didn’t know someone at first. But I could know while I talked with them, and we talked and we took many pictures. I could see a lot of my friends after finished ceremony.

It was held a class reunion of junior high school from evening. The most of the graduate gathered in the class reunion. At first, we watched DVD of our junior high school graduation ceremony. I watched it and it brings me back old memories. I had good old talk with my friends, and I took a lot of pictures with them. There were students and member of societies, and I thought that how fast the time passes while I talked them. And I said some greetings to my teachers. I really appreciated my teachers when I was a junior high school student. I was grad I could a lot of talk. I really appreciate for them. After that, we sang the school song while we watched DVD again. I felt we are all good friends and teachers each other in our school.

I had good time yesterday. I was glad I saw my friends and my teachers for the first time in a long time. There were changed friends and didn’t changed friends on earth. I felt the five years roll on quickly. It brings me back old memories, and I refreshed myself thought I saw my friends. I want to gather with them again. I enjoyed yesterday!!

My Relatives

My family and my relatives gathered at my home today. My uncles, aunts, cousins, their couple and their children and so on gathered, so there were twenty in my home.

The girl of this picture is a daughter of my cousin. Her name is Sakura and 3 years old. She is very friendly and cute. She always had a smile on her face.

My family and my relatives are gets along very well. We always gathered in the New Years holidays and summer holidays at my home. We were talking, eating and drinking all the time. I’m looking forward to seeing my relatives every year. The large numbers gathered this year, so my family was busy for preparation, but we had good time.

The coming of age ceremony is going to take place tomorrow. So I will wear the long sleeved kimono, and it is held a class reunion of junior high school at night. It’s been almost five years since we graduated. Time really flies. I wonder how everyone looks, what they are doing? I hardly wait!!

A happy new year!! It became 2010. I felt time flashed in 2009.

I have objects and do that I want to do it. First, I study various things, and I want to take a lot of qualifications. Also I study English, and I want to get a high score TOEIC.

However I have pleasures. I’m going to go to Australia in spring vacation. I go to foreign country for the first time, so I have fears, but I’m looking forward to going to there. And I have to retire in my club this autumn, so I want to enjoy it a lot in a club.

I want to lead a full life in this year!!

The Letter from Five Years Ago

My sister brought the letter to me yesterday in the morning. I was very surprised, because that letter was from myself of five years ago. Then, I remembered I wrote for myself of 20 years old when I was a junior high school student and it is before few days when I graduate.

Then event and thought were written in the letter, so I read this letter and it brought me back old memories. It was funny, because I wrote about impudent things. However I have liked English since in those days so I wrote I’m glad that if myself of 20 years old to do about English. And I was glad because I study English in the university and it was realized. I read this letter, and I thought that I should more study about English, and I want to more well English.

I wasn’t able to imagine myself of 20 years old and I thought that after five years is still a long way off when I wrote the letter. However actually five years rolled on quickly. And I thought that 20 years old is an adult when I was a child, but I became 20 years old, I feel it isn’t adult all that. However I do that I want to do it and I want to lead a full life in the future.

The coming of age ceremony is going to take place on January 3 in Tamana. And it is held a class reunion of junior high school in same day, so I can see a lot of friends when I was junior high school student. Therefore I’m looking forward to seeing them.

"Up"

I went to watch the movie theater with my mother and my sister yesterday. We watched the movie “Up”. I knew about the story, but I didn’t know how it was ending. However “Up” was very interesting and exciting to me.

First of all, “Partly Cloudy” of short film was very interesting. It was shown before “Up”. I didn’t know about this short film. This short film story is about a cloud and the friendship of the bird. I was moved this short film.

“Up” characters are Carl, Ellie, Russell, dog Dug, bird Kevin and so on. Carl and Ellie were the old cuple who liked adventure. And Ellie passes away, so Carl suspended from helium balloons to his house, and he went to the trip the house and all. Then, he take the various adventures.

I thought that Carl was cute grandfather, and characters are individual and cute. And Carl treasured his house, but he gave up it at the ending. I watched such scene, and I thought that it is important for us to give up treasure and take a step forward. I got courage from this movie. I was glad that I watched the movie “Up”.

BR 2-10: Pinocchio

I have watched Pinocchio movie of Disney before, but I read this book, this book differs from I knew story. Therefore, this book is very interesting to me.

There were some different points in a movie and the book. First, When Geppeto runs after Pinocchio. Then, Gepetto was mistaken by the police, and he was arrested. Also, Pinocchio and cricket got along very well in the movie, but Pinocchio hit cricket with a hummer. I shocked such scene. And, Gepetto and Mr. Cherry were wearing a wig. It was surprised, but very funny. Besides, there were the points it were different, but I was able to enjoy because book and movie were different story each other.

However I thought that Gepetto was very kind, because he treat Pinocchio like his son. And he sold his only coat to buy Pinocchio a school book and some clothes. Because Pinocchio disappeared, Gepetto ran after him all the time. I read such scene, I though that Gepetto really loved Pinocchio.

I was surprised that I read this book, because this book different from I knew story and movie. It happened various adventures this book. However Pinocchio became a real boy at the last. Therefore I excited as I read this book.

BR 2-09 : The Hunt for Gold

I read the book “The Hunt for Gold”. I have read this book’s series before. The book that I read before was very interesting, so I borrowed this book again. Wilma, Wilf, Biff and Chip went back in time, and they did adventure.

Wilf had chewing gum at all time. There were Wilma, Wilf, Biff and Chip in the bedroom. Suddenly, the magic key took them on adventure. They arrived at a river. There were a boy and a girl there. They looked for tiny bit of gold. Wilma, Wilf, Biff and Chip became got along very well with them. Their names are Luck and Alice. They looked for gold together. Then Luck’s father found big gold, so they ate chewing gum while they went to the town to sell the gold with a carriage. Then, robbers came over, and they looked for the gold everywhere, but it didn’t find, and they left there, because Wilf’s chewing gum stuck to a carriage, and saved the gold. And Wilma, Wilf, Biff and Chip went back home.

The children’s adventure is interesting, and I didn’t think helped with chewing gum, and unexpected, so it was exciting for me.

BR 2-08: Audrey Hepburn

I have liked Audrey Hepburn since before. It is “ Roman Holiday” that I looked her movie for the first time. Then, I became like her. I read this book, and I knew about Audrey Hepburn.

She was born in May 4, 1929 in Brussels Belgium. Her parents got a divorce, and she spent with her mother in Dutch her childhood, and she experienced the war and poor life. After the war, they moved to London, and she took the opportunity and she became the actor. After that, she appeared a lot of movies and stages. Especially “Roman Holiday” made Audrey world famous, and she received a lot of awards.

She experienced marriage and divorce two times, and she has borne two sons. She retired in Steven Spielberg’s “Always”. Afterward, she started to work for poor people. She visited in Africa, and she helped a lot of poor, hungry and sick children. On January 20, 1993, she died sixty-four in Switzerland.

This book is easy for me to understand English, so I knew about her life, her movies and so on. She was very beautiful and kind woman. Her life happened various things, for example, happy, sad, hard and so on. However she could do that she wanted to do it, so I thought that she was happy life. I read this book, I could know Audrey Hepburn, and I want to watch her movies “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, “My Fair Lady” and the like.

Essay 2-03b: My English Learning Story

I think that it is important for us to learn languages, because it is necessary for communication. We learn English as second language about six years in Japan. Therefore, the English is an immediate thing for us. Also, I came the university, and I’m a British and American English major, so it is a much more immediate thing for me. I'm going to write about how I have learned English through in the past, the present and the future.

I have been interested in English and foreign countries since I was a child. First of all, I have begun to be interested in English and foreign countries since I began to watch video drama from overseas. I especially liked and I watched video dramas are “Fullhouse” and “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch” when I was elementary school student. I looked forward to watching these video dramas every week then, and I began to I thought that I want to that I can understand and speak English. It is the sign for I was interested in English. Also, I was interested in foreign lives, so I became I want to go to overseas.

I started studying English when I was a junior high school student. I liked English class, and I enjoyed I have the classes with assistant language teacher. I learned American culture and various things from her. I began to listen western music as that time, so I was much more interested in foreign countries.

However I became a high school student, it was difficult for me to understand English. So I didn’t study English as much as in junior high school. But I began to like English again while I listen western music and watched foreign movie and so on, so I thought I should study English, and I wanted to I can understand English very well. Then, I took Society for Testing English Proficiencies. I took third level and semi-second level.

When I entered the university, I felt English classes are difficult again, because there are a lot of various classes about the English. At first, I have never written essay in English before, so it was difficult for me to write sentence in English. But I want to more study it, and I could write essay in English than before.

Now, I’m taking various classes about the English. For example, I study English language history, Britain and American culture and Britain and American literature. Then, I took TOEIC many times to level up an English skill. I will take it again in December. In addition, I taking teaching course, so I teach English in the teaching course. I realize that teaching English is very difficult. I have to ponder about how I teach English for students, so these are difference take English class. Therefore, I think that I want to increase more knowledge about English, culture and so on. Moreover, I increased the opportunity expose to English since I was a sophomore better than I was a freshman. For example, write the blog in English, paper in English. However I think that I should do more to level up English skill.

Above all, in the future I want to I can understand and speak English very well. I hope to visit various places around the world, and to come in contact with local people. I’m some interested in becoming English teacher, but I don't decide for I want to do the job yet for sure whether I’m up for it. I want to job in which I have to use English. I have a lot of I want to do in future. Predict I want to continue studying English for that reason.

I think that English is used in the future better than now all over the world. So it is important for us to we can use English. I want to do things in future come out while I write this essay through the past, the present and the future. However I realized that I lack the knowledge about word, grammar and so on. Officer Election Party

I joined the Youth Hostel club. Our club changed the generation since Takuma festival finished, so we sophomore became the top generation. And our club gave officer election party that day.

I was assistant account before, so I became accountant. Accountant and public relation had to various work, so we prepared and talked since before. We went shopping at the market the day before. Accountant had to do information desk, so my friend, my juniors and I did information desk. But a lot of people came there, so we were very busy there. However we could it going smoothly.

After that, we greeted other club. There are a lot of friends so I enjoyed it. And I talked my friends, my seniors and my juniors, so I was happy. The only first party took place in this time, so I couldn’t talk my friends, my seniors and my juniors than other party. But I was glad that I saw a lot of people. And I put up at my friend home, and we talked about our club, friends and so on all the time.

It was big event of our club for the first time, so we were nervous and we made a little mistake. However this party could go smoothly, so it finished evenly, and it was good. Also I think that it is important for us to prepare, talk again and again, and I hope that next party is going smoothly too.

I took the TOEIC at the university in the morning. I was busy that week, so I couldn’t study about TOEIC too much. I took the test after an interval of half a year. Therefore I felt difficult this test, and I regretted that I couldn’t study too much. I think that I should study more next time. I want to get a high score at TOEIC sometime.

I had a meeting of my club from afternoon. We talked about a new president. After finished, my friends, seniors, juniors and I went shopping for the party.

They came in my home, and we gave the fried bread ice party. First, the bazaar members had a nabe party. We ate a curry nabe, and it was delicious. After that, we played cards game, and the pair which lost at cards went to buy for coca cola at near vending machine. They their intention was to buy two coca cola, and they put the button then six Coca Cola came out of a vending machine. We were surprised very much. We played cards again, and we talked a lot of various things from then on.

Many friends and seniors came over at my home since became nearly at midnight. My senior, friend and I fried the fried bread ice for them, and we ate a lot of it. And we ate, drank and talked until morning.

It was happy and full for me to that day. I want to give the party with them again.

He is the strangest little creature, but very cute, and kind. They became getting along each other. And he helped Sam, and she could return real world. Sam promised Obby come again in here. And Sam’s adventure ended.

I think that it is important for us to learn language, because it is necessary for our communication. We learn English as second language for six years in Japan. Therefore, the English is an immediate thing for us. Also, I came the university, and I’m a Britain and American English major, so it is a more and more immediate thing for me. I'm going to write about I learn English through the past, the present and the future.

I have been interested in English and foreign country since I was a child. First of all, I have begun to be interested in English and foreign country since I began to watch a foreign video drama. I especially liked and I watched video dramas are “Fullhouse” and “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch” when I was elementary school student. I was looking forward to watching these video dramas every week then, and I began to thought that I want to I can understand and speak English. It is the signal for I was interested in English.

I started study English when I was a junior high school student. I like English class, and I enjoyed I had the class teach from assistant language teacher. Also, I began to often listen western music as that time. However I became a high school student, it was difficult for me to understand English therefore I didn’t study English too much better than before. But I though that I like English while I listen western music and watched foreign movie and so on, so I thought that I should study, and I took Society for Testing English Proficiency. When I entered the university, I felt English classes are difficult again, because there are a lot of various classes about the English. But I want to more study it.

Now, I’m studying various classes about the English. For example, English history, Britain and American culture, Britain and American literature and the like. It was very hard for me yesterday, because I have from the first period to the fifth period at Thursday. Also, I have teaching course from the third period to the fifth period running.

First, I had to speech for five minutes. The theme is education problem. I think that the truancy is serious problem with Japanese education, so I spoke about the truancy. I couldn’t speak well, because I was very nervous, and I had not much opportunity to practice of speech. However I couldn’t make my class, because I was very nervous and for the first time. I thought that it was hard to teach it, because the preparations for class need to take time. I want to make the next class better than before.

I submitted the paper about the compulsory education at the fifth period. We made groups and discussed about compulsory education. I heard the various opinions of a lot of people, and it was studied very much.

Our club took place last activity with the third years in November 21 and 22. We went to Oita, and we stayed in a camp in Kuju.

We gathered in the school, and we went there by car. I drove for the first time when club’s activity, so I was nervous a little, but my juniors ride on my car. Therefore it was very far to Kuju, but I enjoyed with them during driving.

We arrived at the evening. I got exercise with my friends, and we had a nabe party. Shortly after that, the number one questionnaire took place. It is a questionnaire to decide the number one variety rankings. For example, it is the ranking such as funny person. These rankings were very amusing to us! The tomikuji was taken afterwards. It was preparation goods for freshman and sophomore by junior. I have come up for president’s goods before. I came up vice president’s goods this time too! I got a mug, a glove and a wallet, so I was happy. After that, we enjoyed that time with them. Next day, we left in the morning. We stopped by eat ice cream cone and bagel on our way home.

The third years retired club, so I was very sad. But it was good for the last activity to have good memories with them. I had a good time with my club members.

The little mermaid longed for the prince all the time. One day, the prince was nearly drowned, so the little mermaid helped him. She became couldn’t erase him from her mind since she helped him. However her sisters said “he’s a man and you’re a mermaid, so he will only make you unhappy.” But she couldn’t stop thinking of her prince none the less. And she thought that the sea witch can help me. The witch gave the conditions that the witch gives legs for the little mermaid, but the witch takes her voice instead. Also, she can never go back to her father’s castle, and if the prince doesn’t return your love, you will dissolve into the ocean waves.

After that, she took legs, but she couldn’t lose her voice. So she was nearly drowned. Then, she was helped by the prince. That night, her sisters came to call back the little mermaid, but she shook her head. Afterward, the prince will marry the princess who she helped him when he was nearly drowned. But the princess wasn’t the little mermaid. However the little mermaid couldn’t lose her voice, so she couldn’t say truth. Therefore, she could never go back father’s castle. And the little mermaid disappeared into the waves.

I became sad when I read this book. Also, I thought that the little mermaid is a sorry. However she was very strong girl.

They work together to pull the turnip. Then they can pull it, and the woman made a dish by the turnip, and they ate the turnip.

Takuma Festival

Takuma festival was held on October 30, 31 and November 1. I was very busy, but I enjoyed these three days.

My club “Youth Hostel” sold the fried bread ice, it is so delicious, and it is very popular. The many customers were came our shop, so there was a long line. Therefore I was busy, but the fried bread ices owe sold about three thousand seven hundred to it. I could sell a lot of it, so I was glad.

Kouyasai was held on the third day. The third years retire from active service in Kouyasai, so I took a lot of picture with the third years. And the portable shrine and the costume of the city parade, the display and the bazaar prize of results were made public in there. My club was awarded fighting spirit prizes by the costume and display. We were very pleased. The portable shrine and the bazaar couldn’t award prizes, but we were glad that we were awarded two prizes. I moved in Kouyasai.

After that, end the Takuma festival with a drinking party, and the ceremony of retirement took place for third years there. The many graduates and a lot of seniors came for the ceremony of retirement. We gave bouquets and memorials for third years. I was glad that they were pleased, but I was very lonely so that the third years retired club.

I really appreciated the third years for about two years. They hung out many times since I was a freshman, and they were consulted about various things. I have a lot of memories with the third years. They are cheerful and kind. I love them!!

I was busy, but very enjoyed Takuma festival, and I was able to do a lot of memories. The three days rolled on quickly. And I was really sad, because the third years retired club. I think that I love them afresh!! So we sophomore wanted to become people like them.

The Fried Bread Ice

BR 2-03: The Flying Carpet

I read the book The Flying Carpet. This book's characters are Biff, Kipper and the boy. This story is about Biff's carpet became the flying carpet, and Biff and Kipper helped the boy. This book is adventure story.

Biff's carpet tore, so she brought the old carpet in the junk shop. After that, she cleaned up the carpet, and Biff and Kipper sat on her carpet. There was the key on the carpet. Suddenly, it began to glow, and the carpet began to fly. And the carpet was frying over a town. Then it stopped at the top of a tower. There was a boy in that room. He is the king, but he was captured in the palace his uncle, and his uncle became the king, instead. His uncle was nasty. Therefore, Biff and Kipper helped the boy, and they brought the boy back his mother. And they caught his uncle, so the country returned peace. Then the key began to glow again, and Biff and Kipper came back to the real world, and their adventure was end.

This book is very interesting to me. And Biff and Kipper’s adventure story was enjoyable.

The City Parade

The city parade took place yesterday. The portable shrine made a hawk in this year. The costume imaged bandit and made it. I was the costume group, so I made the costumes, and we prepared for the city parade until now.

We assembled at the school before am 6:00 that day, so I went out home at am 5:00. I dressed the costume to friends, seniors and junior, so I was busy, and began opening ceremony in a flash. Our turn was last, so slow. At first, we went to the Shirakawa park. And we carried a portable shrine in there, and we left there for downtown. I was glad and move, because we made hard the costumes of about 65 people since August. It was very hard, but I enjoyed make the costume with my friends, my seniors and my juniors. Other club’s costumes were cute!! However my club’s costumes, president and vice president were very cool!!

We held end the parade off with a drinking party that night. The sophomore presided from that party every year in our club. Third years retire when the Takuma festival finish, so there are that third years is in the club few one month. I sad that third years are retire. However this during the one month is very hard for preparation of Takuma festival, so I want to make memories with them.

I walked and tired, but I enjoyed the city parade with my club members. I could make the memory yesterday. I want to take a prize of the costume and the portable shrine this year. And I was glad that I joined the costume group, and I could work with my friends, my seniors and my juniors.

Yayoi’s advice “be careful spelling miss”(Yayoi, http://pumpkindaisuki.blogspot.com/2009/07/portfolio-for-writing-iii.html) is good for me. I think I will be careful about spell. Rie had a good advice, too. She says to “write with many words”(Rie, http://riemsdiary.blogspot.com/2009/07/portfolio-for-writting-iii.html), so I will try to write many words. Manami’s advice is “need typing skill, so you had better practice.”(Manami, http://manamanamanami.blogspot.com/2009/07/student-id-vwxyz-please-replace-vwxyz.html) I think so, too. Therefore I try to practice of typing. I want good at English, typing and so on.

Aso

I went for a drive to Aso with my mother and my sister yesterday. We went to Koube takoyaki and, we ate takoyaki at first. There is this shop in Nishihara village. Takoyaki of this shop is very nice. I went there last month with my friends. I like this takoyaki!

After that, we went to Yamada stock farm. The ice-cream cone is very delicious in there, so there were a lot of people, and there was a line. I ate a milk gelato. It was so delicious! I like the ice-cream cone in there.

We went for drive again, a lot of cosmoses were in bloom then. We got out of car, and we went to cosmos garden. The cosmos were very beautiful, and I took some pictures.

I enjoyed that day, because I could eat delicious foods and I looked beautiful cosmoses. I want to go for a drive to Aso with my family. Aso is very good place!

I read the book The Giant Jelly Bean Jar. This book’s characters are Ben, his sister Jill and Jo-Jo of a clerk Jelly Bean Shop.

Ben is a shy boy and loved jelly beans. He loved Jo-Jo’s Jelly Bean Shop too. Jo-Jo had a contest in his shop every weekend. He read a riddle and the person who said the right answer of the riddle was able to get a jar full of jelly beans. Ben and Jill went to Jo-Jo’s Jelly Bean Shop every Saturday. Ben always knew the answer, but he is a shy boy, so he wasn’t able to say the answer in a loud voice in front of everyone in the store. Therefore he often said “Oh, nuts!” to himself.

One day, Jill got a jar full of jelly beans. She gave some jelly beans to Ben, but he wanted to answer the jelly bean riddle himself. They went to Jo-Jo’s shop again. This shop had been open for one year then, so it was special. The jar of jelly beans of this week was big. Ben knew the right answer this week, and Jo-Jo pointed to him, but he forgot the answer and he didn’t say anything. Then, Jill stepped on Ben’s toes, and he cried “Oh, nuts!” Ben remembered “Peanuts” is the answer! So he answered in a big voice. And he got big jelly bean prize jar. Ben and Jill were very pleased.

I thought that the scene Ben didn’t give up, and he challenged it many times was good.

Caramel Muffin

I love sweets, so sometimes I make sweets. I made milk sherbet the other day.

I had nothing to do today, so I made the caramel muffin. However, there wasn’t flour in my home, so I went to buy it to the supermarket near my house. And I came back, and I made it.
I made caramel cream first, and I put ingredient in a bowl, I mixed it, it into molds, and I baked it with a topping as it. The caramel muffin was made in about one hour and a half.

This caramel muffin was outside tastes very crispy and inside soft. It was very delicious. I think that I make it again, but I want to make the cookie next time. I hope that I become well make sweets more, and I want to become good at cooking.

Preparation for The City Parade

I go to school almost every day recently, because it is for preparation for the city parade. The city parade is a parade to advertise Takuma festival. Many clubs make costume and portable shrine by themselves, and they parade wear costume and carry portable shrine in the city every year.

My club made the gorilla which portable shrine last year. The gorilla was powerful and awesome! The costume is so cool too. Therefore the costume couldn’t get a prize, but the portable shrine was able to take a prize.

I make costume this year. The costume wasn’t able to get a prize last year, so I want to take a prize of the costume this year. Therefore I hope that we can make cool the costume and the portable shrine. I’m looking forward to complete the costume and the portable shrine.

Takoyaki Party and Drive

I saw friends of English course for the first time became summer vacation that day. I hold Takoyaki party with Hanako, Yumi, Chihiro and Maki at Maki’s home.

Hanako and I prepared for the city parade at the school, so we were late for Takoyaki party. We arrived Maki’s home when Takoyaki was made. It was very delicious! However, I was surprised that they put chocolate instead of octopus into it. But surprisingly it was nice! So we made Takoyaki and Chocoyaki again and again as we talked about a lot of things.

I was glad that I saw and talked with them, I could eat nice foods. I had good time!

September 5

I hung out with my friend. She bought new car, so we went for drive by her car. Her new car is Move conte of Daihatsu. The inside of this car is widely and cute car!

My friend came to pick me up at the Tamana station. We went to Ariake plaza in Arao. We ate supper there. After that, we went to amusement arcade, we played UFO catcher and we got matching Care Bare and stuffed animal. We display the stuffed animal and Care Bare to each other's cars. Afterward we went to eat parfait, and we came back.

I enjoyed that I went for a drive with her. Next time, I want to go to Aso with her by my car.

I read the book CORDUROY Writes a Letter. I like the Corduroy book series, because Corduroy is cute, and he is good friend with Lisa.

Lisa noticed that the cookie that she buys in the bakery on every Saturday is something different, so her mother suggests that Lisa write letter to the bakery. Lisa was going to write a letter, but she thought that the bakery owner might not listen to me, so she didn’t write a letter for the bakery owner. Corduroy thought that maybe I can write a letter then, and he wrote a letter for her. The next Saturday Lisa and Corduroy picked up the cookies, and the cookies changed.

After that, Lisa thought that she writes a letter about she noticed things, but she is too afraid to write a letter. However, Corduroy isn’t. He wrote a letter for her. So Lisa thought I should write a letter when I have something to say. And she wrote a letter for her favorite radio program. She made a request for her and Corduroy favorite song. The following week, their favorite song began to play in the radio, and they were glad.

Corduroy writes the letter for Lisa, so I think he is very kind. I read this book, and I thought that it was important to tell my mind.

I think that the American food that we imagine is hamburger, hot dog and the like of the fast food. There is image that the American fast food has much quantity, and can easily make it. We have such images therefore I examined about the American eating habits such as Americans really usually what they eat, and there are what kind of relations America and Japanese food.

The fast food is immediate for Japanese. The fast food came in Japan in the 1970s. It is easy, convenience and cheap, so since then the hamburger and the like of the fast food is necessary for the now Japanese. In addition, convenience food and the frozen food came out, and the simple junk food became natural in Japan. But even then it is important for Japanese to home cooking. The convenience food and the junk food became general custom in Japan, but slow food is in the spotlight now in Japan because such situation made progress. However, the vegetarian doesn’t establish in Japan such as America, for Japanese has imagine that vegetarian diet, life that eat vegetables thoroughly and so on. Therefore the vegetarian doesn’t popularize in Japan that America

The hamburger, hot dog and pizza are called “Three main fast food” in America. For example, according to the data of 1995, about 5 billions hamburgers, 16 billions hot dogs were consume in America, and there are 36% to the American eating a pizza for breakfast once a month. It is important foods for the American “Three main fast food” as much. However, there is a lot of home cooking. For example, meat loafs, mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, chicken soup and the like. Such the American home cooking is base rich taste. There is food called “Comfort food” in America. There are people giving the American home cooking and a snack such as potato chips, but there are many people giving sweet food such as the chocolate and ice cream.

Japanese food is getting more and more popular in the America, and sushi is especially popular. But the sushi which Japanese and American imagine is different. The sushi which American imagines California roll that rolled avocado, crab and the like. It seems to be the thing which a Japanese sushi craftsman made for an American having opposition to raw fish. It became standard sushi in the America. Also, the tofu became popular now. The tofu was made for material of sweets, so the tofu became popular in the America. However, the American tofu is different from Japanese tofu. The American tofu is hard than Japanese tofu, so it is easy to cook, but it is not tofu of a mellow flavor such as Japanese.

There are many vegetarian people in the America. There are people becoming a vegetarian for various reasons such as macrobiotic foods orientation, religion, and the environment. There are people of various kinds in the vegetarian. The vegetarian is the people who don’t eat meat and fish. Above all, “Vegan” is the people who don’t eat an egg, dairy products and animal food at all. There is “Fruitarian”. “Fruitarian” is a diet of only fruit, nuts, seeds, and other plant matter that can be gathered without harming the plant. However, there is “Semi-vegetarian”. They are eating chicken and fish. In addition, the America has many vegetarian foods, and there are many people eating the foods are contained additive and artificial sweetener, so it is the eating habits of the junk food, but there are a lot of people of such a vegetarian. It seems that such things are causes that vegetarian popularize in the America.

I thought that Japan and America affected it each other. Life of the fast food, the junk food and the like became natural in Japan and America now. However, the other side of the coin is that the both countries make points of the life of natural foods and the slow food. Moreover I understood that American was different from Japanese in consciousness for the food. The American has sense of value to easy and convenient to eat. Therefore there seem to be more few home making cooking in American than Japanese. In addition, I understood that Japanese is different from American in the consciousness for the food, but they affect it each other, and there is the food now. I examined American food, the eating habits and so on, and I understood various things. Therefore I was interested to American food, and I want to know more about it.

Firework in Tamana

The festival took place in Tamana on August 7. Firework is very beautiful every year in the festival of Tamana. I was going to go to the festival with my local friend, but she couldn’t go with me, because she had work. Therefore I went there with my club’s friends.

We went to festival place, and we bought some foods at first. There were a lot of people there. We were looking for the place where we can watch firework. I saw many friends then. We sat there, and while we were eating it as we watched firework. We watched fireworks near, so the fireworks were edge, were big and were very beautiful. We bought shaved ices with syrup on the top after fireworks finished. We saw my club’s seniors when we were eating. We took the picture together then, and we came home.

My friends stayed at my home. They came at my home for the first time. We looked a lot of pictures and we talked about many things. Then it was morning when we noticed it. My friends are very kind, fun to be with and cute. They are important friends for me. I had good days with them. I want to go to watch the firework, and I want to hang out with them.

Summer vacation!!

There was a camp of my club at Amakusa for three days last week. I had something to do in the first day, so I took part in the camp from the second day. My friend and I went there with my seniors. We went to Shiraturuhama in Amakusa. There was a long way from the Kumamoto city, and it took about four hours by car. However, it was a fine day and the sea was very beautiful when we arrived there.

I played volleyball with my friends, seniors and juniors on the beach, and I swam with them in the sea. We prepared for a barbecue afterward, and we had a barbecue on the beach. It was so delicious. After that we shot off to display fireworks, sparkling fireworks and so on there. And the stars were so beautiful at night. I had a good time.

Next day, we got up early that morning. The sea of the morning was the most beautiful. We clean the room where we stayed. We took the pictures on the beach everyone afterward, and we came back.

I enjoyed the camp. The sea was very beautiful, and I spent good days with my club member, so I want to go to Amakusa with them again.

As I watched Stitch, Lilo, Nani and character in the movie Lilo & Stitch, I realized that family and friends to help each other are very important. I’m going to write about how important family, friends, to help each other.

At the beginning of Stitch was alone. He judged violent, and he escaped from the space to Hawaii, so he didn’t have friends and he was alone. He met Lilo and Nani there. Also, Lilo was alone, too. She lost her parents in an accident, so she lived on only two people with her sister. And she was seemed a character from her around people, so she was didn’t friends and she was lonely.

When Stitch began living with them, at first he broke various things, and he troubled them. However, he was lonely, so he caused trouble. At first Lilo, Nani and Stitch were in good with each other. They didn’t live together cause Stitch, so their family almost became apart.

However, they realized important about family, so they got over various problems. No matter though family is part, family was links each other, but family is happy always go together none the less.

Lilo didn’t have friends, so Nani gave Stitch for Lilo. They were in good with each other. Such as things happened, so they realized important about each other. Nani’s boyfriend also was getting along with them, so they became getting along more than before, and they got over such as things. It is important for us to friends. We can get over our difficulties if there are friends.

I believe that important to help each other when we are in trouble. There were a lot of such as things with them, but they helped each other. They were answer to such as things and they live together happily at the last.

Finally, we watched this movie, and we can learn about relations of family, friends and others are not easy to in good with each other, but very precious for us. In addition, we should help each other when there are worry, trouble and son to us. We were given to think that about family, friends and help each other are very important.

I usually commute to university by the train and the bus everyday. I have a driver’s license, but I don’t commute by the car. I think that there are good points and bad points about commute to university by the car. Therefore I will write about commute to university by the car.

If you commute to university by the train, the bus and so on, you have to need care the time and you have to adapt the time to act. If you commute by the car, you don’t need care the time, so you can act freely. When you like it, you can go to the various places. These is very good point.

However, there is bad point about commute to university by the car, because the car costs money. It costs gasoline charges first. Besides, there aren’t parking area in Kumamoto Gakuen University, so it costs the rate of the parking area, too. And sometimes when the car can’t park in the parking area. These are bad point about commute to university by the car.

There are these points about commute to university by the car, but there are many students commute by the car in Kumamoto Gakuen University. They think that such a thing, but there are many students think that the car is very convenient. Therefore, many students commute to university by the car.

I also think that the car is very convenient. I want to commute to university by the car everyday, but I don’t have much money, so I can’t commute by the car everyday. It is convenient for students to commute by the car. However, if we commute to university by the car, we have to think that these good points and bad points.

I chose the book of “The Gingerbread Man”. This story is about the gingerbread man run away from everyone.

The gingerbread man was made by the old woman. She heard a little voice from the oven, and she opened the oven door. And the gingerbread man jumped out. The old man and the old woman ran after a gingerbread man, but he ran very faster. He went on running. Soon he saw a cow. The cow said ‘Come here! I want to eat you.’ But the gingerbread man didn’t stop, so the cow ran after a gingerbread man. Soon he saw a horse. The horse said a thing same as the cow, too, and the horse ran after a gingerbread man.

The gingerbread man ran and ran. Just then he saw a fox, but the gingerbread man ran away. The fox said ‘I don’t want to eat you. I want to talk t you.’ Then the gingerbread man saw a river. The fox said ‘I can help you.’ And the gingerbread man and the fox crossed the river together, but the gingerbread man was eaten by a fox afterward.

This book’s picture was very cute. And I had enjoyable while I read this book.

I read the book “STUART LITTLE Stuart Hides out”. This story is about Stuart played hide-and-seek with the family cat, Snowbell.

Stuart Little’s family went out, so Stuart and Snowbell played hide-and-seek. Stuart became seek and Snowbell became seek. Stuart saw a flower vase high on a shelf. He climbed up onto the shelf and slid down into the vase. He hid in there, but it wasn’t very comfortable for him in there. So he thought that he wanted get out in there, but he couldn’t reach the top of the vase.

Snowbell fell asleep all the time. He woke up afterward, and he didn’t think about Stuart and he thought that he wanted got to get out. Stuart thought he have to tip the vase over so he can crawl out then, but the vase fell over and began to roll toward the edge of the shelf.

Snowbell thought he want to have snack before going out, and he went back then. Snowbell found Stuart, and Snowbell helped Stuart. Stuart thanks for him.

Stuart and Snowbell are cute. I want to read Stuart Little’s other book.

June 6

My friends and I made Temakizusi party in my friend’s home that day before yesterday. We went to shopping for party’s preparation after school, and bought various ingredients. We came back to my friend’s home, and we prepared. Temakizusi was very delicious, so we ate too much. My senior came afterward, and we played card game, we talked about many various things. I had a good time that day!

June 7

I went to eat for dinner with my senior and my friends of my club members after school.
We talked with my senior a long time no see, because she studied abroad in China, and she came back to Japan recently. So we talked about many things.

Other my senior and my friend came afterward. We went to amusement arcade, we played the game and we got straps share of numbers, and we took print club stickers.
We went to restaurant again afterward, and we talked much.

I was glad that I could see and talk my seniors. But she will go to china in August again. It is sad for me. However, I want to hang out with my seniors again. My seniors and my friends of my club are very kind and pretty. They are important club of friends for me. I love them.

I read the book "The Princess and the Pea". This story is about the prince find a real princess.

The prince wanted to real princess, so he looked for a real princess, and he met many princesses. One stormy day, a princess came in the castle. The queen knew how to find out real princess. It was that put a tiny pea under twenty mattresses. And the princess went to bed. The next morning, the queen and the king, the prince asked the princess whether she was able to sleep well. “I didn’t sleep because there was a big lump in my bed.” Said the princess. Everyone thought that she is a real princess, because a real princess could feel a pea under twenty mattresses. And the prince married the princess.

I thought that I read this book, a real princess have to be delicate so that it was felt a pea.

BR 1-09: "Pooh Goes Visiting"

I chose the book “Pooh Goes Visiting”. This story is about pooh happened some happening while he was walking.

Pooh found a large hole while he was walking. It was Rabbit’s hole. Pooh ate a lot of foods in Rabbit’s house. He was going to back afterward, but he ate too much, so he’s stomach protruded, and he didn’t pass through the hole. Rabbit fetched Christopher Robin about that matter. They thought that the best way to get out of the hole. They have a idea. It was Pooh became hungry, and he’s stomach was bend, then everyone pull to Pooh.

So at the end of week, Christopher Robin, Rabbit and all of Rabbit’s friends and relations took hold of rabbit pulled together. Then, all of sudden, he could come out. And he became a free. Pooh went on with his walk through the forest, but Christopher Robin looked after him lovingly.

Pooh is very cute. I read this book and I became to like Pooh more.

I was going to go to America in the overseas training, but it called off for swine flu. I was very shock. I hesitated about I go to New Zealand. However, I have never been to the foreign country, and I thought that I have seldom at the opportunity that I'm able to go to the foreign country for one month. Therefore, I decided to go to New Zealand.I hope to come in contact with New Zealander, and I want to go to various places in New Zealand. I want to go to New Zealand soon. I'm looking forward to summer vacation.

I chose the book “The Statue of Liberty”. This story is about when the Statue of Liberty was made.

The Statue of Liberty stands in New York Harbor. It was a present from the France to the United States. A Frenchman called Frederic Bartholdi made it. He modeled on that of his mother’s face. He made the model again and again. He and his helpers took the statue apart, and a ship carried it from France to New York. In American people were building, but they ran out of money, so the work stopped. A man called Joseph Pulitzer had an idea. It was that I will print the name of everyone who gives money to help. Then soon there was enough money, and the Statue of Liberty was made.

On October 28, 1886, the people of New York had a parade. They cheered. Today, more than one hundred years later, the Statue of Liberty still welcomes people to America.
I read this book and I knew about the history of the Statue of Liberty for the first time.

My friends have rather their blogs, but I didn't have my blog, because I thought that if I have my blog, it is a bother to me.However, I had to have my blog since I became a sophomore, and I had to write more than ten thousand words. BR 1-07: “The Bookstore Valentine”

I read the book “The Bookstore Valentine”. There is a man who Mr. Brown. He had the bookstore. It was called the Black Cat Bookstore. This bookstore sold only ghost books. This story is about his bookstore happened things at Valentine’s Day.

Mr. Brown loved his store, cat and cheese. His cat’s name is Cobweb. Mr. Brown and Cobweb lived above the store. Mr. Brown was busy at Valentine’s Day sale, so he put a help wanted in the window. Then a woman came. Her name is Miss Button. She liked ghost books, cheese and cats, too. Therefore, Mr. Brown was employed to her.

They became getting along little by little. Mr. Brown wrote a letter for Miss Button on Valentine’s Day morning, but he couldn’t give to her. Miss Button wrote a letter for Mr. Brown too, but she couldn’t give to him. However, Cobweb and mice were helped to them, and they could give letter each other. Therefore, at the end of the day, Mr. Brown, Miss Button, Cobweb and mice spent together and happily.

This book’s story continued “The Bookstore Ghost”. Mr. Brown met Miss Button. This story had a happy ending, but I’m interested in continued this story.

I use P904i of Docomo. My keitai is white. I have used this keitai since I was a high school student. It will become two years in this summer that I used it. My keitai is older than my friends's keitai, so I'm said often to "your keitai looks old." by my friends. Also, my keitai is sometimes strange. Therefore, I think that I want to change new keitai gradually. However, my keitai is easy for me to use, and a lot of pictures and so on enter into it. Essay 1-03: Lilo & Stitch

I watched “Lilo & Stitch”. I watched Stitch, Lilo, Nani and others of this movie’s story and I thought that family, friends and to help each other are very important. Therefore, I’m going to write about family, friends, to help each other and so on.

First of all, Stitch was alone. He judged violent, and he ran away to Hawaii in the earth, so he didn’t have friends and he was alone. He met Lilo and Nani in there then. He broke various things, and he troubled them at first. However, he was lonely alone, so he happened trouble. Also, Lilo was alone, too. She lost her parents in an accident, so she lived on only two people with her sister. And she was seemed a character from her around people, so she was didn’t friends and she was lonely.

Lilo, Nani and Stitch didn’t go right each other at first. They didn’t live together cause Stitch, so their family almost became apart. However, they realized important about family, so they got over various problems. No matter though family is part, family was link each other, but family is happy always go together none the less.

Lilo didn’t have friends, so Nani gave Stitch. They didn’t go right each other. The various things happened with them then, so they realized important about each other. Also, Nani’s boyfriend was getting along with them, so they became getting along more than before, and they got over various things. I thought that there are friends that it is helped in various things. It is important for me to friends.

There were a lot of various problems with them, but they helped each other then. Therefore they were answer to various problems, and they live together happily at the last. I believe that important to help each other when we are in trouble.

Finally, I thought that human relations of family, friends and others are not easy but very precious to us. In addition, I should help each other when there are worry, trouble and son to us. I was given to think that about family, friends and to help each other are very important.

June 23rd

I join the club. My club’s name is Youth Hostel. My club was divided club member into 8 groups, about 8 or 9 people in each. I join 6 group. It was combination group activity day of 1 and 6 goups that day.

I had period 5 period classes that day. We gathered in student union after school. There are 7 people in 6 group and 5 people in 1 group. We went to we can eat as mush as our like the restaurant. We ate a lot of broiled meat, sushi and desserts. We talked about many things, and I became get along with my seniors and juniors. We finished ate, we went to wonder land for take print club stickers everyone. We took print club stickers and did UFO catcher. We were going to go for a drive from the Kumamoto city to Yatsushiro. However, it rained heavily, so we didn’t go there, because we though that we can’t see night view. Therefore we dissolved there. My senior, friends and I went to foot hot spring in Tamana afterward. We talked about that day and we do group activity again.

I was unlucky that we couldn’t to go for a drive and couldn’t see night view. However, I was grad that I became get along with my seniors and juniors. I enjoyed that day. I want to do group activity again.

June 24th

I had period 3 period classes that day. I finished school earlier than usual, so I went to go for a drive with my friends after school. We went to Aso. We went to eat bagel. There is bagel house in Aso is very delicious. There are a lot of menu of bagel that house. I chose gratin croquette. It was so delicious. I want to go to that bagel house again, and I want to try to different menu.

We were going to go to Daikanbou afterward, but we went different way, so we didn’t understand the way to there, and we gave up that to go to Daikanbou. We talked that to go to again there absolutely. And we came back home.

I regretted that we didn’t go to Daikanbou, but I enjoyed that I went to go for a drive with my friends. I want to go for a drive with them again, and I want to go to there next time!

Hello. My name is Kumi. Please call me Kumi. I’m 19 years old. I live in Kumamoto, Japan. I’m a sophomore at Kumamoto Gakuen University. My birthday is December 13.

My family is 6 people. I have my grandfather, grandmother, father, mother and older sister. My grandfather and grandmother raise vegetables and fruits in their garden. My father is a office worker. My mother is a woman office worker. My older sister is a aesthetician. We are get along very well.

I have two pets. I have a dog and a hamster. The dog’s name is Sakura. He is shibaken of Japanese dog. The hamster’s name is Cheese. He is Djungarian Hamster. They are very cute.

I live in Kumamoto, Japan. My hometown is Tamana. Tamana takes about one hour by car from the Kumamoto city. Tamana is famous for Chinese noodle, so there are many delicious Chinese noodle restaurants. There are famous for hot springs, and there is a foot hot spring place too. There are a lot of natures in Tamana too.

My personality is my way. I think that I’m little shy, but my friends sometimes talk “You go your way”.

My hobbies are listening to music, watching movies, cooking, making desserts and driving. I got a driver’s license a 3 month ago, so I like to go for a drive with my friends recently.

I like listening to music. My favorite music are rock, pop, hip hop, R&B, and the like. My favorite singers are Avril Lavigne, Michelle Branch, Green Day, Black Eyed Pease, NE-YO, Riahnna, Alicia Keys and so on. I usually listen their songs.

I like watching movies since I was a child. I often went to cinema before, but I didn’t go to there recently. I borrowed DVD and I watched movie recently. I watched “Lilo & Stitch” last week. My favorite movies are Disney series and Ghibli series. I want to go to watch movie in cinema.

My favorite foods are desserts and Japanese foods. I like cooking and making desserts. I often cook and make desserts weekend. I’m good at cooking fried chicken and nikujaga. I’m also good at making cookies, muffin, cheesecake and the like.

I don’t like playing sports, but I like watching sports. I especially like high school baseball. I often went to watch high school baseball games when I was a high school student. I want to go to watch high school baseball games this summer again.

My university life is happy. I study a specialty of English. It is difficult for me to understand English. However, I enjoy study English, and I want to understand and to speak English, so I study English. I join the club. The club’s name is Youth Hostel. This club can travel cheep. There are a lot of people in this club, so I made many friends, seniors, juniors. Therefore My university life is so good.

I was interested in English since I was a child. I often listened to foreign music and watched foreign movies and TV drama before, so I became that I was interested in English and I want to I can speak English. I have never been to foreign country, so I want to go to foreign country, and I want to speak English with spot people.

I chose the book “CORDUROY’S Garden”. This story is about Corduroy charges in Lisa’s garden.

Lisa planted the seeds in her garden. Lisa asked Corduroy for watch the beans in her garden, and she put him in a chair by the window. However, the dog was digging while Corduroy took a nap. Corduroy thought that “ I have to find more seeds!”. He found some seeds in her under the bed, and he replanted the seeds in Lisa’s garden. He watched the beans more carefully.

The dog came again in her garden for a while, but the man helped Corduroy. Lisa came back from school to her home then. She picked up Corduroy and ran to see. The garden bore fruit, but it wasn’t bean. It was a green pepper. Lisa and Corduroy surprised it, but Lisa was please, and Corduroy was please too. Lisa thanked Corduroy.

I read two books of the Corduroy’s series. Corduroy is cute. If there are more the books Corduroy’s series, I want to read that books.

I watched “Lilo & Stitch”. I have watched this movie before. I went to watch to cinema, so the movie brings me back old memories. I became like Stitch since I watched this movie.

Stitch was made by a Dr. Jumba Jookiba. It was judged that Sutitch was ferocious, so Sutitch run away in Hawaii. Stitch meet Lilo and Nani in there. Lilo and Nani are sisters. They lost parents in an accident. There were various plobrems for them, but they got over that plobrems, and they became family afterwards. They lived happy as family in Hawaii.
I watched this movie and, I thought that family, friends, help each other when we are in trouble and the like are important.

Dear host family

Hello. My name is Kumi M. I’m 19 years old. I live in Kumamoto, Japan, I’m a student of KGU. I study English at university. I joined the club “Youth Hostel” club in the university. We go for a trip and stay at the youth hostel on vacation.

It takes about one hour and a half to go to university by train and bus everyday. The university is in the city, but there are a lot of fields around my house, and it’s very rural. My town is famous for hot springs, and there is footbathing place, too. I go to there at least once a month. There are many other good places also. What kind of place is the place where you live in? And what is your town famous for?

I have six people in my family. I have my grandfather, grandmother, father, mother and older sister. My grandfather is 87 years old. He is full of vigor. We all get along very well. How many people in your family?

I like to watch movies and listen to music. I like movies of various genres such as comedy, love story, action, suspense and drama. I often listen to rock and pops. I especially like Avril Lavigne and Green Day. I have been to their live took place in Japan. I also like to cooking and making desserts. I often make Japanese food, cookies, cheesecake, muffin and other desserts. Another thing I like is to hang out with my friends. We go shopping and go for a drive when I go out. Hard day

I got up at 6 o’clock, and I left my home at half past 7. Because it was supplementary class from 9 o’clock, so my friends and I went to school by car. We took supplementary class from 9 o’clock to half past 9.

We took the TOEIC from 10 o’clock afterward. It was difficult, so I regretted that I didn’t more study. I hope that it is the result that is better than the last TOEIC. I took the TOEIC, and I though that I have to more study English.

We ate lunch at cafeteria after TOEIC finished. I chose a bowl of rice with a pork cutlet.
I ate it for the first time, but it was delicious. Besides, I ate at cafeteria for the first time in a long time, so I felt delicious more.

I hung out with my friend of my high school after left school. I was glad that I saw her for the first time in a long time. We talked about a lot of things. I want to see her again.

It was hard today, but it was happy for me to today.

I bought the new digital camera the other day, because I fell for president’s goods of cash. I made use of it, and I bought the new digital camera. I’m so happy. I use this, and I will take a lot of pictures.

It happened shock for me today. It is that the overseas class was canceled, so we can’t go to America. I’m very incredible and sad.

I knew that there is course of that overseas class in Kumamoto Gakuen University when I was a high school student. Therefore I thought that to go for the absolutely overseas training when if I went to Kumamoto Gakuen University. I have never been to foreign country either, so I was very looked forward to going to America. Accordingly I’m so sad that I can’t go to America.

There is problem of influenza, but there is the person who looked forward to like that. Therefore the person who wants to go should let go to America.

I can’t believe yet that it, and I can’t give it up. I want to go to America!!!!!

BR 1-05: "Happy Birthday, THOMAS!"

I read “Happy Birthday, THOMAS!”. This book’s story is about Thomas’ birthday.

Thomas and his friends work hard every day, but Thomas didn’t want to work that day, because it was Thomas’ birthday. He wants a party, presents, and so on. However, Sir Topham Hatt said, “Everybody is busy, so you must work today.” Therefore Thomas worked hard, but no one says, “Happy birthday.”, and presents. At the end of the day Thomas headed home. He though that it wasn’t busy for me today.

Thomas arrived at home. Sir Topham Hatt opened the door to the shed then, and lights went on. There were all Thomas’s friends. They said “Surprise!” “We were busy,” said his friend. That mean was making a party for him. It was a wonderful party, and there were presents, and so on. Thomas was very pleased.

I surprised that there are Thomas’s book in library. The Thomas’s story brought me back old memories. His friends surprised for him, and he was pleased. I was pleased, too that I read the scene.

My golden week plan is I'm going to hang out with my friends. I got driver's license recently, so that I want to go for a drive with my friends, and I'm going to go for a drive with my family.

The anniversary of the foundation

It was holiday last Friday, because that day is the anniversary of the foundation at Kumamoto Gakuen University. So I had a barbecue with my club member in riverbank at shirakawa under the kokai bridge that day. My seniors and I prepared from the day before. For example, cut vegetables and so on.

My club member gathered about 50 on that day. I ate meat or vegetables a lot. , I felt it even more deliciously, because I ate with everyone. The lot was taken afterwards. It was preparation goods for freshman and sophomore by junior. I didn’t fell easily the lot, but I fell for president’s goods!! That was T-shirt and 5000 yen of cash. I fell the lot for the first time, so I was grad!!

It was finish, we cleared up, and we went for a drive afterward. We went to sea in Tamana. The evening sun was so beautiful when we arrived at there. The evening sun set then, we shot off fireworks on the beach after dark. My seniors, my friends, and I ate supper, and we came home thereafter.

I could enjoy that day!! I was grad that I fell the lot. I want to the digital camera now, so I think that I buy the digital camera. I was happy that I had a barbecue, and I could go for drive with my club member, either. I want to go for drive to somewhere else again.

I went to eat Monnjayaki with my friends after school. We were able to choose three toppings in a Monnjayaki. First, we chose cuttlefish, rice cake, and perilla. We didn’t know that good taste, but challenged this combination. However, it was good taste when I ate. Second, we chose cheese, menntaiko, and noodles. This combination was very delicious. We hesitated about what to eat next, too. But we ate the third. Third, we chose corn, egg, and soybean paste. This was the most delicious in three.

It is better for students join the club, because it better can enjoy university life.

In addition, there are nice institutions in university. First, there are a lot of books and personal computer in library. We are free to borrow books, and use personal computer in there. The library is very convenient. Second, there are good places for lunch. It is such as cafeteria, and bakery. We are able to eat for cheap and delicious foods in there.

We can do various things in this way. We are able to want to things, to learn variety things, and to make a lot of friends in university. There are good institutions in there, else. Besides can various experience, we make many memories. It is fulfilled for us to live university life.

I didn’t write the diary recently, because I have caught cold since last week, so that I lay in bed almost golden week. But I had pleasure only one day. When Lisa goes on a hiking trip, Lisa was surprised to find him her backpack, but she thinks he’ll be safe stay tucked inside her backpack.

Corduroy just has to take a peek at what everyone else is seeing, thought, and he falls out. However she didn’t notice. Hikers picked up Corduroy, and they set Corduroy on a branch shortly after that, but next the Cub Scout picked up Corduroy and tossed him in the air. They handled like a football for him. Corduroy tried to stand up then, he was streamed to the river. He zoomed under another bridge and, stopped on a rock. “ I am stuck, and I am lost” Corduroy thought.

The time to go back, Lisa was depressed, because she lost for Corduroy, and she had looked everywhere for him, but he wasn’t found.

Lisa got on the bus, and she sat seat. Susan of her friend sat beside her. Susan gave something for Lisa. Something was Corduroy!! Lisa was very pleased to find for him. Corduroy, too. “ I’m so glad you’ve got me.” Corduroy thought.

Freshman camp of my club

Freshman camp of my club was performed on 24, 25 and 26th. My club member and I went to Aso after school on Friday. We stayed at youth hostel in Aso. We played the game and told to freshmen all the time in the middle of the night in there. We enjoyed first day.

Second day, we were drive in Aso, and stayed another place with the day before. We made hashed beef and rice in supper, and took hot spring. Graduates of my club came in there. We were glad that graduates came. Freshmen and graduates got along very well. We had a nice time.

Foot hot spring

I hung out with my club member after school today. I have class until the third period, but I killed time till then in a library because it was a plan from six o'clock p.m.

My senior's, senior who graduated, freshmen and I went to eat for sushi. It was delicious, so I ate with them. We went to foot hot springs in Tamana, and we drove to thereby my senior's car. I told about school, club and various things with freshmen while driving.

The foot hot spring is hot spring soaking in hot water only with foot. I was comfortable, so warm I soaked in hot water. We enjoyed in there, and we were breakup there and came back.

I was glad that I hung out with my senior’s, senior who graduated and freshmen, and got along with freshmen. I had a good time today. I want to hang out with them again!!

Georgia and Charlie realized that they were in England, because they heard for the people were talking. The boy spoke to Georgia and Charlie then. He was going to get on ship and go to America. However, Georgia heard the story of the boy, and Georgia, Charlie and the boy stepped on the time machine with a boy together. The boy was unwilling to go, but the ship has already departed when he arrived. “One day, you’ll thank us,” Georgia told the boy. “Never!!” the boy screamed. Georgia and Charlie were back inside the time machine, and Georgia told why did such a thing to Charlie.

It was April 16, 1912 on that day. The world’s biggest passenger ship was shipwrecked, and many people died. The ship was on its way from England to America. The ship was “Titanic”.

I have six people in my family. I have my grandfather, grandmother, father, mother and older sister. My grandfather is 87 years old. He is full of vigor. We all get along very well. How many people in your family?
